Carley is the 1-year-old blind girl that has just gone through extensive testing. 1 week before she was brought here, she had suddenly went blind.
Here are the results:
The good news is she most likely doesn't have a tumor there is a very slight possibility of a small undetectable brain mass.
She has normal and consensual pupillary light response, which means that when light is applied to one eye both pupils respond. The retinas and optic nerve (mid brain) are working.
The optical vortex that perceives sight is not working.
He believes this was most likely caused by a trauma to the back of the head or a reminence of a viral encephalitis or circulatory damage.
The main reason they are, for the most part, ruling out a brain mass is because the quick timeframe she went blind in and the fact that she hasn't seizure or shown any other signs by now is a very good indication to rule it out.
